Database Learning App

Making database concepts easier to learn by interacting with them.

An interactive learning application that teaches database and SQL concepts through visual, hands-on exercises.

The problem

Database and SQL concepts can be difficult to understand when they are presented only as definitions or syntax.

The application

I built an interactive learning experience that uses visual explanations, practice activities, immediate feedback, and different exercise types to make the structure of databases and queries easier to understand.

  • Visual database/table/column/row hierarchy
  • Matching exercises
  • SQL clause-order exercises
  • Multiple-choice concept checks
  • Query walkthroughs and explanations
  • Reference examples
  • Progress/quiz feedback

What this demonstrates

This work shows the same principle used in client-facing digital work: complicated information becomes more useful when structure, language, interaction, and visual hierarchy are designed together.

About the demo

This is a private, login-protected application, so there isn't a public live-demo link. The screenshots and video use sanitized content to show the experience without exposing private information.

Watch a concept move from a visual explanation into a hands-on practice exercise with immediate feedback.

The lessons use infographics and explanations to show you not only what to do, but why you're doing it. Each SQL statement is broken down into manageable steps, making concepts that initially seemed complicated much easier to understand.
